The Confluence Legacy Maker Gathering, hosted annually since 2017, honors individuals who have made lasting contributions to preserving and sharing Native knowledge, culture, and stories throughout the Columbia River system.
The event brings together Tribal partners, educators, artists, and community supporters to celebrate cultural leadership and reaffirm our shared commitment to inclusive, place-based education.
In 2026, Confluence is honored to recognize Patsy Whitefoot (Yakama Nation)—a respected educator, mentor, and advocate whose work has shaped Native education across the Pacific Northwest. Through her leadership in language revitalization, culturally grounded teaching, and advocacy for Native communities, Patsy has helped create pathways for Native youth and future generations to thrive.
