Job Summary

We are seeking a creative, results-driven digital marketing coordinator to design, implement, and optimize a digital marketing strategy across Magic Canoe online channels, which include the website, newsletter, and social media. This role is responsible for increasing brand awareness, growing our audience, driving audience engagement and charitable contributions, potentially implementing a subscription/membership program, and improving overall online performance through data-driven marketing initiatives.

The ideal candidate has experience analyzing performance metrics and collaborating with team members to achieve nonprofit business objectives. Experience creating and nurturing online environmental and/or political movements is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborates closely with Magic Canoe team members and others to conceptualize and execute on digital campaigns and messaging
  • Writes compelling digital marketing campaign copy that reflects Magic Canoe’s voice and purpose 
  • Plans and coordinates campaigns, with a focus on segmentation, to drive engagement among website readers, newsletter subscribers, and social media followers
  • Implement SEO and SEM best-practices to improve website visibility and drive organic traffic
  • Monitors campaign performance using analytics tools and provide actionable insights to grow our audience and generate revenue
  • Conducts market research, competitor analysis, and identify emerging digital marketing trends
  • Prepares monthly performance reports and present recommendations to leadership
  • Ensures brand consistency across all digital channels

 

Required Qualifications and Attributes

  • A degree in marketing, communications, or a related field such as fundraising is preferred. Relevant experience is applicable.
  • A minimum of three years experience developing, initiating, and managing digital campaigns
  • Experience with Mailchimp is preferred
  • Possess a strong appetite for experimentation and testing new approaches
  • Excellent analytical, project management, writing, and communications skills
  • Keen understanding of bioregionalism, environmental, and regenerative movements. An understanding of Salmon Nation is a plus
  • Up to date on digital marketing trends and implementation
  • Proficiency with WordPress, Google Suite, Slack, Canva, and other relevant platforms

 

Role Details

  • This is a part-time, hourly, month-to-month contract position
  • Up to 20 hours per month, includes flexible hours with some set times for team meetings. 
  • Candidates must live in the Salmon Nation bioregion (Alaska, British Columbia, northern California, Idaho, western Montana, Oregon, Washington, and the Yukon)
